| Skills Group (Hood River) |
This group is focused on learning and using skills, and is helpful for people who have a
difficult time regulating emotions,
have poor coping skills and poor impulse control, unstable interpersonal relationships,
self harming or parasuicidal behavior or been diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder.
Using material based on Dialectical Behavior Therapy, this group is divided into
4 modules which focus on Mindfulness, Distress Tolerance, Emotional Regulation and
Interpersonal Effectiveness. Clients can be referred during the start of a new module, and must
be screened before attending group to determine appropriateness (MCCFL staff
will be notified when new referrals are being accepted).

| Mindfulness Skills for Teens (Hood River) |
Mindfulness Skills classes for teens are based on
DBT (dialectical behavior therapy). Mindfulness is the trait of staying aware of (paying close attention to)
your thoughts and emotions before acting upon them. DBT is a unique, specialized form of cognitive-behavioral
therapy that was originally developed to treat adults who were chronically suicidal, self-injuring,
and exhibiting symptoms of borderline personality disorder. DBT is now being utilized for treatment of
adolescents who engage in impulsive, aggressive, self-injuring, or suicidal behavior.

| Illness Management and Recovery Group (Hood River) |
The group, offered in 9-week cycles, will promote recovery strategies;
practical facts about mental illness; and coping with problems, symptoms, and the mental
health system itself. A strong emphasis is placed on goal setting and action. The group is open to
enrolled clients and their family members. |

| Intensive Outpatient Services (Hood River) |
This group is for individuals that need a middle level of care for their
alcohol and drug problems. This group focuses on the disease and progression of
addiction, relapse prevention skills, getting needs met effectively, and using
various support systems to get or remain clean and sober. Individuals must
complete and alcohol and drug assessment or be referred for services through a
mental health professional, to meet justification for this level of care. |

AOD education group is a series of classes that helps clients
understand the effects of alcohol and other drugs from a bio-psycho-social-spiritual
point of view in an educational format. The agenda presented explores the history of
alcohol and other drugs, DUII laws, 3 models of addiction, stages of change,
relapse and relapse prevention, and stress management. |

The aim of this group is to orient prospective AOD clients with
services offered at MCCFL and also complete some paper work that is usually done at
assessment time. By completing some of the paper work clients and clinicians have more
time to build rapport and conduct the assessment.
